Come honestly
- Pray and ask Jesus for His truth, mercy, and leadership
- Approach Him honestly rather than trying to produce a certain experience
- Forgive where needed, while recognizing that forgiveness does not remove healthy boundaries or accountability
- Confess and repent of known sin without taking false blame for harm done to you
- Bring questions and share only what you are ready to share
- Stay connected to mature Christian community and appropriate professional support
What you do not need
You do not need to diagnose yourself, search for hidden causes behind every struggle, stop medication, abandon counseling, or fear that asking questions shows a lack of faith. Never change medical or mental-health treatment without speaking with a qualified professional.
A posture, not a performance
The goal of preparation is simply to make room for truthful, prayerful conversation under the care of Jesus. Freedom is His work, and discipleship continues after a prayer meeting ends.
